Yesterday, in a move which surprised no one but disappointed many, it was announced that the savage cuts heralded in a consultation launched last August and euphemistically called "Legal Aid: Funding Reforms" would be implemented
The savage cuts to the Legal Aid fees paid to Solicitors and Barristers are said by LCCSA'S President, Paul Harris, to be:-
"Without precedent in their scale, affecting police stations, Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts.
On 20th August the MoJ published its Funding Reforms Consultation hard on the heels of the largest response ever seen to an LSC Consultation Best Value Tendering.
There is no doubt that the high quality and sheer volume of responses on BVT caused the LSC to re think its National Roll Out Plans.
